Holly-Hunter

Holly Hunter is a well-known American actress, producer and director. Her name has been acknowledged for movies like Broadcast News The Firm The Piano The Incredibles and The Incredibles. Her work has been recognized with numerous awards for her work which includes an Oscar. Her career began as an actor on Broadway and Off Broadway. Enthusiastic about acting from the time she was in school, she portrayed Helen Keller in a play in fifth grade. The fifth grade was the year that after having mumps she lost hearing in her left ear. However, she did not allow that to stop her. While in college, she took classes in theatre as well as later moving from Pittsburgh and Pennsylvania, to New York City in pursuit of her goal. Hunter was stuck in the lift of playwright Beth Henley when she met her. They worked together to write Broadway Crimes of the Heart in which Hunter made her Broadway debut. As she settled in Los Angeles, she began looking for roles in films. Her first film role was in the role of an actress playing the main character in Swing Shift. Since then, Holly Hunter has been featured in a variety of TV shows and movies. Holly Hunter received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and was also awarded an award called the Women in Film Lucy Award.
